A monogram is a motif made by overlapping or combining two or more letters. Monograms are often made by combining the initials of an individual or a company, used as recognizable symbols.
Our recommended layouts for custom monogram gifts and custom monogram apparel are as follows:
Classic three letter monogram layout for an individual is with the last name initial larger and in the center of the monogram (first name - last name - middle name) so for John Q. Smith it would be "JSQ".
Classic three letter monogram layout for a couple's monogram is with the couple's last name initial in the center and each person's first name initial smaller on each side. So for Rich and Kate Smith it would be "RSK"
Two letter monogram layout traditionally has two letters of equal size in any order you would like.
Three letter monograms with three equal height letters are normally laid out with the actual order of the name, so for John Q. Smith it would be "JQS" but may also be used with the last name in the center.
Note: We will sew it in whatever order you provide so please make sure you have entered the letters in the order you wish to have them sewn.
